What does it take to advance your career?
FROM THE FOUNDERS’ DESKS:

As we close out another powerful quarter at Crwn Network, we’ve been reflecting on one question: What does it truly take for women of color to rise, lead, and thrive at the highest levels?
This quarter, we focused on three essential areas: the leader within, winning relationships, and the financial and business acumen needed to excel in executive leadership.
Because the truth is, talent alone is rarely enough.
You can be exceptional at your job and still question whether you belong in the rooms you’ve earned access to. That’s why we began with the internal work. We challenged ourselves to lead before the title arrives, trust our voice before external validation comes, and stop waiting for permission to own our expertise and ambition. Confidence is not arrogance, it is alignment.
We also leaned deeply into the power of relationships. Too often, women of color are taught to simply work hard and hope to be recognized. But leadership is built through visibility, advocacy, trust, and meaningful connection. The right relationships can open doors, expand opportunities, and transform careers.
At Crwn, we are intentionally creating a community where collaboration replaces competition and where ambitious women can grow without shrinking themselves to fit in. We believe relationships are not transactional but are transformational.
Finally, we focused on the financial and strategic skills required to thrive in the C-suite. Understanding budgets, business strategy, organizational performance, and financial decision-making are leadership skills. The leaders shaping organizations and driving impact understand how business decisions connect to outcomes.
Too often, women are excluded from these conversations or made to feel they are “not financially literate enough” to lead them. We reject that narrative. We want women confidently contributing in rooms where strategy is shaped, investments are discussed, and critical decisions are made.
We see the impact of this work every day: women speaking up more boldly, pursuing leadership opportunities they once thought were out of reach, and showing up with greater clarity and confidence.
That is the Crwn woman.
As we move into the next quarter, we encourage you to keep stretching, keep investing in your growth, and keep making bold moves. The version of you that you are becoming requires courage from the version of you that exists today.
Thank you for building this community with us. The best is still ahead.
With gratitude,
Janeé & Crystal
